Phew, sorry for the blog silence; the last few weeks have flown by. Let's see, some quick recapping. We picked cherries at our local orchard and preserved them. This year, we made our amaretto cherries with Bentons, a locally developed variety similar to Bings, as Tres was hoping they would end up a bit firmer than the Rainiers. We tried our hand at freezing some too, pitting them and freezing them on cookie sheets, then transferring them to wide mouthed jars (as we did with our blueberries last year). I'm excited at the prospect of having another fruit around this winter!
Somehow, we ended up making matching Muppet faces here
Cherries ready for canning
We picked some Rainiers (and ate them) too
My parents came for a visit, we tasted wine, and my dad helped Tres make sauerkraut for his sister's wedding.
These are actually from a visit to the Oregon coast a month and a half
or so ago, as I don't have any photos from this recent visit
Silas and I visited my sister.
We are tired now.
